This paper deals with using measurement, data acquisition, data analysis, and modeling for real technology of two research borehole polygons, located at the district of VSB – Technical University of Ostrava. The first part of this paper is focused on some technical description of the Big Research Polygon and the Small Research Polygon (e. g. borehole equipment, temperature conditions, data acquisition systems etc.). The second part briefly describes how the data are processed and analyzed via user-developed applications based on IDEs of Microsys Promotic and NI LabVIEW, whereas each of these applications can offer some specific way how to process online or offline data from SRP boreholes only. A purpose of the applications is to help user visualize and analyze data efficiently. The third part, the most important one, is centered on mathematical modeling, which can be used for practical design of borehole polygons. There is some borehole dimensioning approach based on Fourier differential equation and other equations, knowledge, and parameters useful for computational algorithms of sophisticated modelling software applications such as EED, SVHeat, and PetraSim (their features are mentioned), whereas only EED borehole design process and its results are discussed.
