Two types of concurrent failures are occurring in many practical situations - monitored and dormant. Monitored failures are repaired immediately after they have occurred, whereas dormant failures are detected only by periodical inspections and subsequently repaired. This paper describes the possibilities of their modeling. Time dependent availability is derived in selected cases. We developed different renewal models taking into account different distributions of failures (Weibull, Erlang, lognormal) respecting ageing process: * models of monitored failures with negligible renewal time * ageing models of dormant failures with periodical preventive maintenance * alternating renewal process for monitored failures with lognormal distribution of failure time * alternating renewal models with two types of failures, etc. In the case when analytical solution was complicated we used numerical solution to compute renewal function. Zjevné poruchy jsou zpravidla opraveny hned poté, co se vyskytly, zatímco skryté poruchy jsou detekovány pouze při periodických prohlídkách a následně opraveny. Tento příspěvek popisuje možnosti jejich modelování. Pro vybrané případy je odvozena časově závislá pohotovost. Jsou vyvinuty různé modely s obnovou při uvažování různých modelů poruch (Weibull, Erlang, lognormal) respektujících procesy stárnutí: modely zjevných poruch se zanedbatelnou dobou obnovy, stárnoucí modely sktytých poruch s periodickou údržbou, alternující proces s obnovou s oběma typy poruch. Pokud analytické řešení bylo komplikované, bylo požito numerických metod k výpočtu funkce obnovy.
