dcterms:description
Type structures in common object-oriented programming languages are designed independently of applications. However, current applications often produce or exploit persistent data using various techniques more or less independent of data storage management. The article addresses typical programming language issues that are common to classical approaches to data persistence. Finally, some constructs are suggested to achieve better modelling power and data storage independence of object-oriented programming languages.
