The paper deals with analysis of a cantilever beam equipped by the active vibration control system. The cantilever beam as a continuum is approximated by a lumped-parameter system. The lumped-parameter model enables to derive the transfer functions relating forces to displacements, to determine the appropriate controller type and to determine under what conditions the system will work.
