This paper brings the newest findings and party documetns the experince gainet from a research done on the mining optimization and biogas utilization. The latest results coming from analyses done on degasification of landfills in Czech Republic as well as at some selectted landfills abroad are given. The sources for methane gas originating are mentioned. The activities leading to the utilisation of it are described for several types of landfills. Some of the cases of a succesful minimisation of biogas escape into the atmosphere are described in detail. Economic aspects are shown on real examples.
