The article discusses work satisfaction from the perspective of selected theories and approaches, deals with internal and external factors having effect on work satisfaction and with their influence on performance of work. It presents the results of repeated research of work satisfaction in social service organizations, specifically in two senior homes, the consistencies and differences in assessment of work satisfaction by employees due to changes in organization management in the course of one year.
