High enthalpy steam plasma was generated in dc arc torch with water stabilized (Gerdien) arc. Reactions of steam, oxygen and carbon dioxide with wood saw dust and wood pellets were studied for arc power 100 kW. Syngas with high content of hydrogen and carbon monoxide and very low content of carbon dioxide and other components was produced. Effect of feed rate of treated materiál as well as of plasma power and size of material particles on degree of carbon gasification, syngas composition and flow rate was investigated in the experiments.
