Particularly, this polymer possesses biologically non-fouling properties, i. e. it resists the accumulation of proteins and other biological material. Moreover, this material can be used as a drug-delivery component in medicine. This work explores the production of PEO-like plasma polymer thin films by using an amplitude-modulated AC surface DBD at atmospheric pressure and influence of discharge parameters (HV amplitude 2.1-6.6 kV peak-to-peak, duty cycle <0.4) on properties of deposited films. The influence of electrical parameters on discharge characteristics was investigated through electrical measurements and optical emission spectroscopy. Preliminary results related to non-fouling PEO-like plasma polymers were obtained by XPS, FTIR and QCM.
