The method of physical modelling is adopted at the Institute of Thermomechanics. It was necessary to develop and to adapt some new methods of measurement. First of all, there was demand for flow visualization for flow and dispersion qualitative assessment. Some examples of results are demonstrated: air pollution due to traffic inside a street, plum of smoke spreading, the surface mean concentrations of lead from point source in complex terrain assessment.
