The nanocrystalline FeCox (x=1, 1/2) structures with dimension in the range 2-10 nm were fabricated in an advanced UHV system by combination of radio frequency magnetron sputtering (RF-MS) and pulsed laser deposition (PLD) techniques. The alumina (Al2O3) and SiOx films were fabricated by RF-MS in argon ambient and FeCox by PLD by using an excimer KrF laser, respectively in concurrently and alternating regimes. The thin films were after deposition annealed by both KrF and Nd:YAG lasers at λ=248, 532 and 1064 nm wavelengths.The aim of this work is the examination of the effect of fabrication process and laser annealing (wavelength and energy density) on the size and crystalline structures of the FeCo nanoparticles. The structural and morphological properties of fabricated nanostructures were examined by XRD, AFM, TEM and HRTEM.
