Dye decolorization capacity of two white-rot fungi, Irpex lacteus and Phanerochaete chrysosporium, were compared in N-limited liquid cultures. The agitated cultures showed lower ability to decolorize azo dyes Reactive Orange 16 (RO16) and Naphthol Blue Black. Similar effect was also observed with other structurally different synthetic dyes. The effect of surfactants on dye decolorization is discussed. A significant increase in the RO16 decolorization by the agitated I. lacteus cultures was observed after adding 0.1% Tween 80, following a higher Mn-dependent peroxidase production. The in vitro dye decolorization using the purified enzyme proved its decolorization ability Dekolorizační kapacita dvou hub bílé hniloby Irpex lacteus a Phanerochaete chrysosporium byla porovnána u tekutých kultur limitovaných dusíkem. Třepané kultury vykázaly nižší schopnost odbarvovat azobarviva Reactive Orange 16 (RO16) a Naphthol Blue Black. Podobný efekt byl pozorován i u dalších, strukturálně odlišných syntetických barviv. Je diskutován vliv surfaktantů na dekolorizaci barviv. Podstatný vzrůst dekolorizace RO16 v třepaných kulturách I. lacteus byl pozorován po přidání 0.1% Tweenu 80, kdy rovněž vzrostla produkce MnP.
