Jsou prezentovány výsledky experimentálního studia pohybu volné hladiny kapaliny ve třech míchacích nádobách o průměru 0,29 m, 0,50 m a 1 m. Nádoby byly optřeny radiálními narážkami a promíchávány lopatkovými míchadly v širokém rozmezí frekvencí otáčení. Pohyby hladiny jsou charakterizovány statistickýnmi a chaotickými invarianty a jsou vyčísleny jejich závislosti na provozních podmínkách nádob. We consider the liquid flow in a stirred tank with rotational mechanical impeller as a highly complex, multi-component dynamical system exhibiting unstable (pseudo-stationary) dynamical behavior. Within the variety of the flow components in a stirred tank large-scale, low frequency, pseudo-periodic fluctuations that substantially influence mixing characteristics of the stirred vessel are frequently encountered. These flow fluctuations ? instabilities ? are associated with recurrent fast liquid jets originating at the vessel bottom and ascending along the baffles and the tank wall. In our paper we aim to statistical and dynamical analysis of the free liquid surface motions in three stirred vessels and to investigation of occurrence of local macro-swells of the liquid surface near a baffle. The experiments were carried out in standard flat-bottomed cylindrical mixing vessels with four radial wall baffles (inner diameter T = 0.29 m, T = 0.50 m and T = 1 m, respectively).
