Reakce peroxide vodíku s thiosíranem v přítomnosti ionů mědi v průtočném míchaném reaktoru je význačně nelineární a složitý system vykazující násobné stavy, oscilace a excitabilitu. Byly pozorovány tři typy ustálených stavů lišících se svou aciditou a pozorované oscilace se liší amplitudou oscilací pH. Mechanismy uváděné v literatuře se liší v předpokladu autokatalýzy způsobené buď hydroxylovými nebo vodíkovými ionty. Pro určení, který model lépe popisuje experimenty bylo použito pojetí nelineární dynamiky, především metody bifurkačních diagramů. The hydrogen peroxide-thiosulfate-Cu2+ (HPTCu) reaction in a flow-through stirred reactor is a highly complex and nonlinear system displaying many features characteristic of nonlinear systems: multiple steady states, oscillations, and excitability. There are three types of steady states differing by their acidity, and the observed oscillations are marked by variations of pH. Mechanisms suggested to explain these features are based either on an autocatalytic action of OH- ions or H+ ions. In order to help discriminate between various mechanisms we use a method based on nonlinear dynamics that utilizes bifurcation diagrams.
