dcterms:description
Lignocellulose biomass is promising feedstock for production of liquid biofuels such as ethanol or butanol. Due to its complex structure, lignocellulose have to be decomposed prior to fermentation using physico-chemical pretreatment and enzymatic hydrolysis. Response surface methodology was used as a tool to find optimum condition of alkali pretreatment of wheat straw, which enable to maximize the yield of fermentable sugars in subsequent enzyme hydrolysis.
