Electroreduction of five azinyl methyl ketoximes and their Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes was investigated polarographically and correlated with acidity of the hydroxyimino group, nucleophilicity of dissociated oximate anion and with hydrolytic activity towards model substrate (p-nitrophenyl acetate). Three different types of reduction of chelates were observed and their influence on the catalytic activity discussed.
