The diploma thesis deals with measuring techniques associated with landscape pattern. Selected spatial characteristics are divided into 3 groups which indicated fragmentation, heterogeneity and clustering. Analysis are tested in the area of Czech Republic using geographical datasets of different thematic orientation and of different input data details (Corine Land Cover, ArcCR500 a DMU200). Analyses overlay area of 57 500 quadrate kilometre (more then 70% of Czech Republic area) and are conducted at 6 different scales (different extent). The analytic functions included in ArcGIS software, in conjunction with Python programming language were used to calculate indices. The objective of this thesis is to find out possible relations among calculated landscape pattern indices, depict their conducting in context with varied input data extent and input data details, and also to evaluate the convenience of different thematic datasets used for landscape pattern analysis.
