Presentation is dealing with the evaluation of natural, combined and artificial forest regeneration at 42 research plots, located in the Czech as well as Polish part of the Krkonoše Mts. Big attention was paid not only to the tree species composition, but also to the spatial (horizontal, vertical) and age structure of the juvenile stages of the tree ecosystem compartments, as well as to their development in different site conditions. The prosperity of the regeneration was evaluated in relation to the development stages and forest stand phases in beech, mixed (spruce-beech, fir-beech, spruce-fir-beech), spruce and pine stands on the basis of the study of tree species, horizontal and vertical structure. The forest stand regeneration shows different features of the dynamics despite of general rules in particular site and stand conditions. The regeneration dynamics is affected by different site conditions, site limits as well as biological characteristics of particular tree species.
