dcterms:description
Altogether 12 species of Sepsidae were found or recorded from Podyjí NP, representing only 42.9 % of the known Czech fauna of this family. All species recorded represent broadly distributed species being Holarctic or Palaearctic or even broader in distribution. The most common sepsid species in Podyjí NP were undoubtedly S. fulgens, S. punctum and N. nitidula (all of them found in virtually all localities under study). The same species were also the most common species in the Bílina and Duchcov environs, which is not surprising because all are very common and ubiquitous throughout Central Europe. Localities hosting the most diverse sepsid communities were Pod Šobesem (7 species) followed by Široké pole, Horní Břečkov and Ledové sluje (6 species each), all are boggy meadows. It contrasts with old forests, where we found only the most common species, S. fulgens, S. punctum and N. nitidula.
