The dry matter yield and persistence of Coronilla varia in monoculture (sown rate 16 kg ha-1) and in a mixture (10 kg ha-1) with Bromus marginatus (20 kg ha-1) were evaluated over 6 years in a field multi-factorial experiment established in Prague in 1997 (chernozem, altitude 281 m a. s. l., average annual precipitation 472 mm, average annual air temperature 9.3° C). The swards were cut and the biomass removed once or three times per year, or mulched once or twice per year. The dry matter yield of C. varia was highest under 2 harvests per year (up to 9 t ha-1). In the 2nd year there were 185 plants m-2 in the plots harvested three times per year and 40-60 plants m-2 in the plots harvested once or twice per year, it decreased till 20-35 plants per m2 with both sward types in the 6th vegetation year. The proportion of C. varia increased till more than 90% under one or two harvests per year of the monoculture in the 2nd and 3rd year and it decreased later to 40 % under all the treatments (polynomial of The dry matter yield and persistence of Coronilla varia in monoculture (sown rate 16 kg ha-1) and in a mixture (10 kg ha-1) with Bromus marginatus (20 kg ha-1) were evaluated over 6 years in a field multi-factorial experiment established in Prague in 1997 (chernozem, altitude 281 m a. s. l., average annual precipitation 472 mm, average annual air temperature 9.3° C).
