dcterms:description
Altogether 2,698 specimens of the families Empididae, Hybotidae and Microphoridae representing 60 species were found by means of pan traps in agricultural fields in Nort-western Bohemia and adjacent areas. Altogether five lines of traps were installed in center of non-productive perennial vegetation, along ecotone and 10, 40 and 100 m inside fields. Two species, Empis livida (38.95 %) and Platypalpus kirtlingensis (14.49 %) were eudominant, further two species were dominant (Platypalpus ciliaris, 9.89 % and Drapetis parilis, 8.90 %). An additional three species (Platypalpus pectoralis, Platypalpus pallidiventris, and Platypalpus pseudofulvipes) were subdominant. No one of the species recorded could be characterised as agrobiont. The majority of species did not display a distinct affinity to agroecosystems, and they were agroneutrals (27 species, 45 %), a smaller proportion belonged to agroxenous (25 species, 42%) and eight species were agrophilous (13%).
