Comparison of observed and numerically water transport inside a large undisturbed soil column is one of important procedures for studies of the water and chemicals movement in soil pore system. A setup for undisturbed soil column experiments was constructed in such a manner that a broad variety of initial and boundary conditions may be applied (Matula et al., 1998bú. The undisturbed column of Typic Hapludoll, O.3 m in diameter and 0.85 m in height was taken in a hard plastic container from the field to the laboratory. A dripping head equipped with syringe needles was used to create relatively homogeneous irrigation intensity.
