The paper highlights some crucial distinctions between explicit and tacit knowledge, particularly as far as knowledge creation and knowledge arising from a project planning process are concerned. he special benefits and challenges that project management brings to knowledge management and organizational learning, the nature of knowledge contents crucially influencing the nature of organizational (project management team) learning, shall also be described. These findings have implications on several areas of project management´s on-going interests, such as capability maturity models, project management frameworks, supply chain management, and relationship with performance.
