The HPLC method coupled with eight-channel coulometric detector (CoulArray) was used for determination of polyphenolic compounds in Pilsner beer and hops cultivated in the Czech Republic. Some important flavonoids and isoflavonoids as well as some phenolic acids were analysed. CoulArray detector is characterized by high sensitivity and enables determination in very low concentration. Calibration ranged from 0,001 mg/L to 1 mg/L of each analytes without any clean–up procedure before analysis. The two HPLC gradients with different content of acetonitrile as an organic modifier were used to separation of compounds with different polarity. Specific oxidative potencial of each phenolic compound enables higher degree of selectivity of these chromatographic methods. The typical representative compounds from wide spectrum of phenolics were chosen for establishing of composition of Czech hops and beer of Pilsner type. Metoda HPLC ve spojení s osmikanálovým coulometrickým detektorem (CoulArray) byla použita pro stanovení polyfenolických sloučenin v pivu plzeňského typu a ve chmelu pěstovaném v České republice. Byly analyzovány některé důležité flavonoidy, isoflavonoidy a fenolické kyseliny. Vysoká citlivost CoulArray detektoru umožňuje stanovení i velmi nízkých koncentrací. Kalibrační rozsah byl v rozsahu 0,001 - 1 mg/L pro každou sloučeninu. Vzorky nebylo nutné předem čištit. Pro separaci byly použity dva typy gradientu lišící se obsahem acetonitrilu s ohledem na polaritu analyzovaných polyfenolů. Specifický oxidační potenciál a retenční čas každé látky zaručovaly vysokou selektivitu HPLC metod. Z širokého spektra polyfenolických sloučenin byly vybrány typické polyfenoly pro charakterizaci českého chmelu a piva polzeňského typu.
