The paper deals with electrified traction of bicycle which becomes very popular in last years, especially for short distance city transport when the rider’s power is complemented by the force of electric motor supplied from battery. The first part brings the theoretical analysis of traction dynamics for various regimes and characteristics of modern direct drive motors with permanent magnets. The experimental results are presented and analyzed in the second part and finally the comparisons are presented between the theoretical and experimental results.
