The paper deals with the problems of image information processing and transmission of gained results to the CAN-bus (Control Area Network). The whole chain of processing consists of three independent and interconnected parts. The program created in the Matlab environment is used to detect an object in the image data. The calculation of the motion parameters of the object and the estimation of its margin of dangerousness are done by means of a circuit with FPGA (field-programmable gate array). The communication via CAN bus is realized by means of MCP2515 circuit from the Microchip Company.
