The aim of the paper is to identify the role of long-term trends in the monitored network parameters. Knowledge of the trend will allow us more precise predictions of the future network traffic and also help us better determine the dimensioning of the network to both the future projected growth in volume of transmitted information, and in time the increased of demands in the network, caused by irregular activities of network users.
