dcterms:description
The green fodder is the name for aboveground parts (stalks, leaves, blooms, seeds) of fodder plants with unfinished vegetation growth. Green fodder and preserved green fodder are mainly utilized as feedstuff for ruminants. Green fodder is produced on meadows, pastures and arable land. Meadows and pastures are covered with mixed stand consisting of grasses, legumes and forbs. On the contrary, the green fodder produced on arable soil is pure stand of particular plant species (grasses, cereal, legumes and other) or controlled plant fodder mixtures (for example, grass mixtures with red clover). According to an integration of fodder grown on arable soil to the sowing plan it is classified as main crop, catch crop and second main crop.
