Currently, consideration is given to the polymorphism of bovine milk proteins with the aim to increase milk quantitative parameters. Genetic studies concentrate on kappa-kasein (CSN3), beta-kasein (B-CN) and whey beta-lactoglobulin (LGB). Genes of CSN3 and B-CN are mapped to bovine chromosome 6, and LGB gene to chromosome 11. Several polymorphisms have been found in each of the genes mentioned, but the most common genetic variants are CSN3 a, B, and E, B-CN a1, A2 and B and LGB A and B. The aim of our study was to compare and evaluate the genetic polymorphism of milk proteins in cattle maintained as gene pool reserve in the Czech and Slovak Republic. V současné době je pozonost zaměřena na polymorfismus bovinních mléčných proteinů s cílem zlepšit kvantitativní ukazatele mléčné užitkovosti. Genetické studie se soustřeďují na kappa-kasein (CSN3), beta-kasein (B-CN) a syrovátkový beta-lactoglobulin (LGB). Geny CSN3 a B-CN byly lokalizovány na chromozómu č. 6, LGB na chromozómu 11. Polymorfismus byl sledován u každého z jmenovaných genů, ale nejobvyklejšími variantami jsou CSN3 A, B, E, B-CN A1, A2, B a LGB A,B. Cílem studie bylo srovnání a vyhodnocení genetického polymorfismu mléčných proteinů u plemen skotu chovaných jako genové živočišné zdroje V České a Slovenské republice.
