The paper deals with the preparation of transparent conductive oxides suitable for thin films solar cell technologies. It has been concentrated on aluminium doped zinc oxide prepared by reactive sputtering on glass substrate. Especially structural, optical and electrical properties of the films were studied. The modelling of a single junction thin film photovoltaic cell using a PSpice software is also included.
