This control system has been developed for INCAS mini-pilot application in the eScop (Embedded systems Service-based Control for Open manufacturing and Process automation) EU Artemis project. The mini-pilot application consists of 6 technological modules (buffers, decision making modules, picking station, etc.) which are controlled by 6 embedded RTUs (Remote terminal units) interconnected via Ethernet. Originally, RTUs were based on ALIX single board computers and remote I/O modules by B&R. The control system was developed using the REX control system equipped with the REST web service interface which was designed and developed in the eScop project. It is expected that these RTUs will be substituted with higher count of RTUs based on embedded microcomputer Raspberry Pi.
