The present study extends knowledge in thermal stability of magnetron sputtered alumina thin films. Special attention is devoted to kinetics of transformation processes in alumina thin films leading finally to the formation of the thermodynamically stable alumina phase during non-isothermal annealing up to 1300 °C under air atmosphere.
