dcterms:description
Numerical simulations of pulsatile Newtonian and steady non-Newtonian blood flow through complete bypass models with rigid walls are performed in order to investigate the changes of hemodynamics in relation to high failure rate of implanted grafts. In the case of pulsatile flow, a finite volume version of fractional-step method together with the second-order fully implicit Crank-Nicolson scheme is used. For the generalized Newtonian fluid flow, the pseudo-compressibility method and the finite volume version of central explicit fourth-stage Runge-Kutta time-stepping scheme is applied.
