This paper is introducing method for quantification of risk to Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) induced by degraded grid conditions such as loss of power source, brownout, heavy power transfers, switchyard maintenance, equipment failure or spurious protection actuation, while pointing out a way for utilization of risk monitors in electric grids. This method is using inputs from electric grid state estimator and results of contingency analysis in conjunction with switchyard configuration and plant operating state.
