This paper is focused on solving a practical problem. The combined heat and power unit is equipped by synchronous generator. The generator is connected to a star connection. Due to the safety rules, the neutral point of a generator and neutral wire of the power network have to be connected together. In some cases, the current in this neutral wire is enormous and very significantly increases the power losses of the generator. This paper is focused on solving a practical problem.
