The paper reviews the current situation with national PV strategy, existing PV industry and all PV research and development activities in Czech Republic. The main attention is focused to the R&D in the Institute of Physics, Academy of Scinces of the Czech Republic, within the Czech universities. National an EU project and grands mainly fund PV research. Within last two years there is significat growing tendency in the number of PV installations mainly due to the national program %22Sun into school%22.
