Efektivita chovu vyžaduje mj. snížit provozní náklady. Jednou z možností je prodloužení pastevního období na podzim, v případě mírné zimy přichází v úvahu pást i v zimních měsících. K tomu je potřeba mít dostatek píce na stéble. Na stanovišti Jevíčko byly v ČR v letech 1997 a 1999 založeny přesné maloparcelové pokusy s vybranými druhy trav (Dactylis glomerata, Lolium perenne, Festuca arundinacea, Festuca pratensis, genus hybrids a Bromus marginatus) určených na sklizeň v prodlouženém pastevním období. Trávy byly hnojeny dusíkem v dávce 120 kg.ha-1 N. Hodnoceny byly znaky: produkce sušiny a koncentrace NL, vlákniny, NEL, NEV s využitím infračervené spektrometrie. Effective breeding requires decreasing running costs. One of the possibilities is to extend grazing season in autumn, in case of mild winter grazing could be taken into account in winter months. For this it is necessary to have enough autumn saved herbage. Therefore, in 1997 and 1999 there were at the Jevíčko site in the CR established accurate small plot trials with selected grass species (Dactylis glomerata, Lolium perenne, Festuca arundinacea, Festuca pratensis, genus hybrids and Bromus marginatus) which were intended for harvest in extended grazing season. Grasses were fertilized with 120 kg.ha-1 N. There were evaluated these features: DM production and concentration of CP, CF, NEV, NEL by infrared spectrometry.
