The lines Petra, L-8 and 29H proved high degree of resistance in laboratory inoculation tests. These resistant accessions significantly decreased the infection pressure of anthracnose during the vegetation period. In 2002 the hybrid combination Petra x Merlin was crossed to obtain the progenies of white flowering faba bean with improved resistance to A. fabae. The selection for different phenotypes (colour flowering with black hilus, colour flowering with white hilus, white flowering with black hilus, white flowering with white hilus) with improved resistance to A. fabae was carried out under inoculation conditions. In the F4 generation (2005) the source material and the hybrid population of F2 and F3 generations were compared and selection efficiency was evaluated. In the colour flowering phenotype with black hilus (F4) seed infection of up to 10% was found out in 64.3% of plants. Významně snižovaly infekční tlak antraknózy během vegetačního období. Ke zvýšení odolnosti bělokvětých bobů proti A. fabae bylo roku 2002 provedeno kombinační křížení Merlin x Petra. V inokulačních podmínkách byly selektovány odlišné fenotypy (barevně kvetoucí s černým hilem, barevně kvetoucí se světlým hilem, bíle kvetoucí s černým hilem a bíle kvetoucí s světlým hilem) se zvýšenou odolností k A. fabae. V generaci F4 (2005) byla ověřena úspěšnost selekce ve srovnání s výchozím materiálem a generacemi F2 a F3. U fenotypu barevně kvetoucího s černým hilem (F4) bylo napadení semen do 10 % zjištěno u 64,3 % rostlin.
