We designed and manufactured novel functional weft knitted fabrics with integrated superelastic thin NiTi filaments. Their mechanical behavior was analyzed using tensile and bulge tests. We analyzed the mechanical behavior of referential polyester PES weft knitted fabrics free of NiTi filaments, a single layer of the functional weft knitted fabrics and two transversely oriented layers of the functional weft kntted fabrics. As outcome of experiments, we can summarize the mechanical properties of the functional weft knitted fabric.
