Polyurethane foam is an important material for example in car industry. By car seat design it is necessary to know foam material properties. The aim of this work is to verify applicability of genetic algorithms for estimating values of material properties of polyurethane foam. The material model of the foam was developed on our department. Fitness function was set as a total difference between experimental and computational data and adapted for the possibility to compare different sets of input data (magnitude, length, sampling).
