This contribution describes the development and application of a corpus-based tool for the study and teaching of English for Academic purposes. It wants to achieve two different goals: 1. to show that modern corpora can be an helpful addition to the mix of methods employed by educators at all levels 2. to explain that these corpora are not static collections for perusal or simple look-up tasks but that they can serve as a backbone for more intriguing teaching methods when additional computational tools are used upon those corpora.
