Electrochemical detectors (ED) are designed to determine electroactive compounds (either oxidizable or reducible). ED application areas are not broad, but it covers some of the most important drug, pollutant and natural product classes. For these, the specificity, and sensitivity make it very useful for monitoring these compounds in complex matrices such as body fluids and natural products. Sensitivities for compounds such as phenol, catecholamines, nitrosamines, and organic acids are in the picomole (nanogram) range. The aim of this work is to develop a novel electrochemical detector for HPLC analysis. The detector consists of electrochemical sensor with array of electrodes and a cell designed to provide uniform mass transfer across all electrodes. Data are collected and processed through multipotentiostat and software. Elektrochemické detektory (ED) jaou navrhovány pro určení elektroaktivních částíc (jak oxidovatelných tak redukovatelných). Aplikační působení ED není široké, ale pokrývá několik nejvýznamnějších léků, znečišťujících látek a přírodních produktů.
