dcterms:description
Poster was presented at The 2nd International Nanotechnology Conference & Exhibition, NanoIsrael, Tel Aviv, Israel (November 8-9, 2010). Present and future applications of nanomaterials will require their precise, ordered intrinsic structures or even will ask for accurately determined anisotropic properties. In the conventional electrospinning process individual fibers are collected onto a collector after passing through the chaotic whipping phase of the nanofiber formation. Positions of nanofibers on a substrate are random as a consequence of these chaotic jet movements. One of the most important aims are advanced electrospinning processes to obtain somehow ordered nanofibrous structure. In this work, we present an optimized patterned collector design with collecting board mechanism which was developed to solve the following problems: a) low orientation order parameter, b) breaking of thin nanofibers between electrodes during and after deposition, c) drop of orientation order parameter with deposition time, d) difficulties with soft material manipulation, and e) electric field induced alignment methods restricted to lab scale production. Detailed description of the new collector type is presented with systematic experimental results.
