The paper deals with the analysis of higher harmonics of magnetic flux density in the air-gap of induction motors. The higher harmonics have a major influence on the shape of the induced voltage in the induction motor and on smooth operation of the motor. The paper discusses the possibility of influencing of higher harmonics of magnetic induction in the air gap by choosing suitable distribution of the windings in the slots. In this paper, it is introduced new method for calculation higher harmonics of magnetic flux density in the air-gap of induction motor based on density of conductors.
