This article describes two simple real world embedded wireless applications based on hybrid chip containing 8 bit microcontroller and IEEE 802.15.4 radio chip. It will be shown how potentially powerful, useful and cost effective applications can be developed by connecting relatively new low power wireless technology based on IEEE 802.15.4 standard with simple speech recognition algorithm or ultrasound distance meter.
