This paper deals with design of the low voltage electronically commutated motor. Presented motor was developed in cooperation with ATAS elektromotory Náchod company, traditional producer of the low power DC and AC machines. It is intended to offer this machine as a rival to common DC motors and therefore the low manufacturing expenses are required. The analytical design brought the roughcast of the machine and the electromagnetic FEM model was used to optimize the machine and to calculate the enhanced characteristics. The measurement of the motor sample was performed to verify the theoretical results and to check the motor parameters. This paper deals with design of the low voltage electronically commutated motor.
