This contribution deals with problems of implementing of automation components for laboratory education of students in our department. Basic structural element is a programmable logic controller KOYO Direct Logic 06. This controller basically contains 20 digital inputs and 16 digital outputs and these input/output signals could be extended with other modules. In our case is added another module with 4 analog inputs and 2 analog outputs. For communication with other environments is PLC equipped with standard serial port RS232 and also ETHERNET module is added. Students could also acquaint with development program Control Web 5 during the education. With theoretic training they will be able to make wiring of laboratory problem and to program the controller with appropriate visualization. The keynote of the project consists in identification of our students with today “switchgear” technique in practice and also widens possible areas of their future careers.
