The paper deals with the usage of high-strength materials in steel-concrete structural members of composite constructions of buildings. The information presented here is based on the co-operation of the paper authors workplace with the company oriented to the development and practical application of steel-concrete composite structures. Through this co-operation the experimental verification of the buckling resistance of high-strength steel-concrete composite columns has been realized and obtained results have been utilized as a contribution to the precision of structural design of composite structures applied in practice.
