The paper deals with the problems of moisture detection in materials utilized in building structures by means of microwaves. It includes the results of experimental monitoring of one-dimensional water transport in inert porous materials in the form of transport of liquid moisture in a non-stationary state of moistening. The research objective is to verify a newly developed methodology in order to obtain characteristic moisture parameters of building materials by a non-destructive method using microwave radiation. Test measurements were performed with specimens of silicate-based materials, commonly used in building structures, namely ceramic burnt body and foam concrete. Článek pojednává o detekci kapalné vlhkosti v materiálu stavebních konstrukcí pomocí mikrovln. Obsahem je popis experimentálního měření jednorozměrného proudění při navlhání materiálu v nestacionárním stavu. Jedná se o ověřování metodiky pro stanovení vlhkostních parametrů stavební hmoty nedestruktivní metodou. Testovací měření byly prováděny na materiálech na bázi silikátů.
