Modern trend of altitude interconnection of two storey's in civic building development is to use the most discharged and airy staircase. Among staircase types corresponding to the mentioned criteria belong the straight and cranked stirrup wooden stairs. Within the modernizing of this staircase types the structural members' sizes were optimaliszed including modification of selected details. The optimalization and the details design was carried out and analysed using the 3D mathematical construction model in the ANSYS program. To verify the results and prove the behaviour of the stirrup wooden staircase structure under the effect of the static loading the experimental tests were made in 1:1 scale on the straight stirrup staircase 3.0 m high.
