Neustálý technický rozvoj a požadavky na vyšší výkony a větší užitnou hodnotu strojů a zařízení vede výrobce i uživatele k zvyšování jejich životnosti a hospodárnosti jak při jejich návrhu, tak v provozu. Tento trend je důsledkem snahy o konkurenceschopnost, úsporu materiálů a energií, úsporu finančních prostředků při provozu, minimalizace dob prostojů a v neposlední řadě i ochrany životního prostředí. Kapitola je věnována tribotechnické diagnostice, která se stala účinným nástrojem zvyšování spolehlivosti mechanických strojů a zařízení. Unceasing technical progress and growing requirements for larger value in use at the machines and devices leads the producers and users to the increase of their working life and efficiency - as by the design, so by the operation. This trend is an effect of the effort for competitive advantage, material and energy saving, cost saving by the operation, idle time minimalization and last but not least - environmental protection. This paper is devoted to tribotechnical diagnostic, which became an effective tool of the reliability increase by the mechanical machines and devices.
